Girl groups, like boy bands, have a limited lifespan: Their dissolution is all but inevitable, and they go through hell to get there. It’s one of those realities about pop music that we pretend isn’t going to happen this time, until it does, and then all of a sudden we always noticed the cracks in the facade, the outages in the girl power.
