Earlier this month, the New York City Parks Department canceled Kehlani’s planned June performance at Central Park SummerStage, a show that was billed as Pride With Kehlani. The cancelation came after Cornell University canceled a Kehlani show over the R&B star’s vocal support of Gaza amidst Israel’s campaign of genocide. Mayor Eric Adams’ administration wrote a letter to the Parks Department citing “concerns for security and safety issues” after the Cornell cancellation. A planned Juneteenth show from Ravyn Lenae and Noname was also canceled. Now, the Denmark-born, London-based musician Astrid Sonne has canceled her own planned SummerStage performance in solidarity with Kehlani.

Following last year’s Wicked, Ariana Grande is not only a mega pop star, but an Oscar-nominated film star. Turns out the next acting gig she’ll take on is part of the classic comedy franchise Meet The Parents. The John Hamburg-directed project will include the original cast Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner.

Last month, Yumi Zouma returned with the great song “Bashville On The Sugar,” which was their debut for their new label Nettwerk. Now the indie pop band is back with another moody banger called “Blister.”

Addison Rae’s highly anticipated debut full-length Addison arrives in just a week, but the influencer-turned-pop-star is not done with singles just yet. Following the impressive previews “Diet Pepsi,” “Aquamarine,” “High Fashion,” and “Headphones On,” “Fame Is A Gun” is the latest taste of the album.

Haim have been having fun previewing their new album I quit with new singles and cover artwork that recreates famous paparazzi pictures. So far we’ve heard “Relationships,” “Everybody’s Trying To Figure Me Out,” and “Down To Be Wrong,” and now the trio is sharing “Take Me Back.”

In 2016, Camila Cabello left Fifth Harmony and a couple of years later the girl group went on hiatus. Cabello’s solo career has been a wild ride, especially with last year’s experimental C, XOXO. That same month, Normani unveiled her debut solo album Dopamine. But now it looks like 5H might be getting back together, without Cabello.

Earlier this month Big Thief announced a North American tour for this fall. Their last album was 2022’s critically acclaimed Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You, though they returned the following year for the release of “Vampire Empire” and “Born For Loving You.” Now the indie band is teasing a new song called “Incomprehensible” with posters around New York.

Next month our 2022 Artist To Watch Rhys Langston unveils his new album Pale Black Negative. So far the LA musician has released “Ate The Tuning Fork While I Taxied In The Crepuscular” with Open Mike Eagle, “When I’m Squared With Happiness,” and “When The Orchestra Is Dreaming” with Mike Ladd, and now he’s back with “It Jes Grew (Right Outta Me).”

Earlier this year, $ilkMoney joined Fly Anakin, Quelle Chris, and Big Kahuna OG for the track “My N***a.” Today, the Richmond rapper is back with his first new solo material in three years with “NEVER TRUST A BITCH THA- *EXPLODES*,” which is the lead single from his forthcoming album Who Waters The Wilting Giving Tree Once The Leaves Dry Up And The Fruits No Longer Bear?.
