Teresa Marraco started taking piano lessons when she was five years old. The artist who now records as Antinoë couldn’t reach the pedals yet, but she quickly discovered that she loved to play. Her teacher, Clara, taught her not just how to read sheet music but how to be creative, to envision and ultimately realize ideas beyond what was written in the score. “She would ask, ‘What does this song tell you? Can you sing something about it? Can you draw something about it?’ It triggered my imagination,” Marraco says. She continued to study with Clara until she was 17.

Olivia Dean, the English soul-pop star whose single “Man I Need” recently became a Top 5 hit in the US, publicly called out Ticketmaster last week when she discovered that tickets to her summer North American tour were priced with some pretty egregious markups. “The prices at which you’re allowing tickets to be re-sold is vile and completely against our wishes,” Dean wrote in her Instagram stories directed to Ticketmaster. “Live music should be affordable and accessible and we need to find a new way of making that possible.” Her call-outs worked, and Ticketmaster capped resale prices for Dean’s tour at face value. Now, Ticketmaster and AXS are also refunding the difference to ticket buyers who already paid over face value.

Johnny Cash’s estate is suing Coca-Cola for allegedly hiring a tribute singer to imitate the country music legend’s voice in a commercial. The ad began airing in August, and the complaint was filed Tuesday (Nov. 25) in Nashville, accusing the soda brand of “pirating Johnny Cash’s voice in a nationwide advertising campaign to enrich itself — without asking for permission or providing any compensation.”

In 2020, Katy Perry and her husband at the time Orlando Bloom purchased a $15 million home in Santa Barbara from Carl Westcott, an army veteran and millionaire who founded 1-800-Flowers. He quickly tried to undo the deal, claiming he was on prescribed painkillers due to a back surgery when he signed the contract and therefore of “unsound mind.” He sued Perry’s business manager Bernie Gudvi, and he lost at a bench trial. Perry asked for $4.7 million in damages, and now she’s been awarded $1.8 million.

Elton John is coming to Brazil. The Rocket Man didn’t stop in the country during his massive Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, but he’s making up for his long, long time away by headlining Rock In Rio 2026. However, it’ll be one of his first big shows since he contracted a “severe eye infection” back in 2024 that left him “with only limited vision in one eye.” Although he’s hopeful he might regain some of his vision, he spoke in a new interview with Variety about the toll it’s taken on his mental heath.

If you weren’t there for it, the Tom Green phenomenon is an extremely difficult thing to explain. But it happened. He was a big deal. He’ll probably always be passively famous in the way that people who were on MTV in the ’90s will always be passively famous.

As Batu, Omar McCutcheon twists darkness into odd structures. He grew up near Oxford, UK, where he was mesmerized by his father’s vinyl collection. Settling into his current alias as a teenager, he enrolled at Bath Spa University to study production. “My love of electronic music really started with dubstep,” he remembers. “It morphed into this hybrid sound, where people started using bits of techno and mixing that with influences from the UK. I followed that, the same way as Hessle Audio and Hyperdub.” Now based in Bristol, McCutcheon has strengthened it as the West Country’s haven for ravers.
