Bruise Bath Announce New Self-Titled Album: Hear “Blood On My Tongue”

I always wonder about the acts who release multiple self-titled albums, the Peter Gabriels and Weezers and Rancids and American Footballs of the world. That must take a whole lot of self-confidence, right? Or maybe it’s just a willingness to confuse your audience. Perhaps those two things are the same thing. Much to think about. Anyway, we can now add Philadelphian post-metal churners Bruise Bath to that list.

Modest Mouse guitarist Simon O’Connor has been accused of sending inappropriate messages to a minor. Bimbo Announce Debut Album The Bimbonacci Sequence: Hear “Chewing Glass”

To sign to Exploding In Sound, you need to have a memorable one-word band name, like Jobber or Ovlov or Stuck. The great indie label’s newest signees, Bimbo, fit the bill. Hailing from Marquette, MI, Bimbo describe themselves as “if the White Stripes were evil, couldn’t write a song in 4/4, and were actually bother and sister.” Today they’re announcing their debut album The Bimbonacci Sequence.

Fat Dog – “Shit Love”

You could really just rearrange the four words in this blog post’s headline in any way that you might want. “Shit Dog – ‘Fat Love’.” “Dog Love – ‘Fat Shit’.” “Fat Dog Shit – ‘Love’.” They all sound pretty interesting! But those other ones aren’t real. Instead, this blog post is about Fat Dog, the noisy British dance-punk-ish band, and their new song “Shit Love.”

Lucy Dacus Joins Madi Diaz On New Version Of “Heavy Metal”

The great singer-songwriters Madi Diaz and Lucy Dacus just had a big weekend together at the Newport Folk Festival. Diaz and Dacus both performed at Newport, and Dacus did a guest-heavy set that included appearances from Hayley Williams, Brandon Flowers, and — hey, look at that — Madi Diaz. Williams played her own guest-heavy set, and Diaz and Dacus both joined her separately — Diaz on “Find Me Here,” Dacus on “Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris.” Today, Diaz shares a new version of her song “Heavy Metal” that she recorded as a duet with Dacus.
