A week ago Harry Styles announced his annoyingly titled new album Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, the follow-up to 2022’s Harry’s House, the 2023 Grammy winner for Album Of The Year. A few hours from now, Styles will release the new album’s lead single, “Aperture.” But first, he’s revealed a gargantuan residency at Madison Square Garden.

Nature, Nurture, & DJ-Kicks: For Eris Drew, This Is 50

Eris Drew has become so intrinsic to the electronic circuit, one could be forgiven for thinking she had been a full-time artist for decades. She enjoyed futuristic television scores in the 1970s, so her grandmother gifted her a synthesizer. In the third grade, she moved to the Windy City. “I grew up in that world of industrial and house and rave that was swirling around Chicago in the late ’80s and early ’90s,” Drew remembers over Zoom. A PBS poster and crate of 12-inches are perched behind her. After attending her first club at the age of 14, she began to collect LPs and learn mixing.

Worm – “Witchmoon: The Infernal Masquerade” (Feat. Marty Friedman)

In just a few weeks, the freakdy-deaky, theatrical Miami underground metal duo Worm will release their new album Necropalace, and I fully expect it to rule. But we’ve already got an album’s worth of new Worm music, since their three pre-release singles already include more than half an hour of music. We’ve already posted the…

Your Old Droog & Madlib’s Droogie Otis Make TV Debut On Fallon

They got Your Old Droog on Jimmy Fallon now. That’s crazy. Droog, the prolific New York underground rap staple, recently got together with production legend Madlib, a longtime collaborator, to form a unit called Droogie Otis. They’ve released a few singles, and there’s an album in the works. Last night, Droog and Madlib were musical guests on The Tonight Show. Droog has come a long way.

In 2019, Vampire Weekend bassist and occasional solo artist Chris Baio got together with Mike Greene, the dance producer better known as Fort Romeau. They formed a duo called C.Y.M. and released a self-titled EP. Last year, C.Y.M. released their debut album, which is also self-titled. Now, Biao and Greene have made a collaborative EP…

Men At Work Denounce Use Of “Down Under” At March For Australia Events

You never have to question which country Men At Work are from because they put it right in the chorus of their biggest hit: “I come from a land down under.” That song, the chart-topping early ’80s smash “Down Under,” has apparently been played at recent events organized by March For Australia, an anti-immigrant movement whose website bears the motto “Our National Identity Will Not Be Erased.” Colin Hay’s not happy about it.

Former Turnstile Guitarist Brady Ebert Launches New Band The S.E.T., Shares First Song

In 2022, Turnstile announced the departure of founding guitarist Brady Ebert, a sudden and shocking change for the band. Ebert and Turnstile frontman Brendan Yates were childhood friends, and their split was ugly enough that courts reportedly got involved. I still have no idea what happened there, and I can only hope that nobody did…

Guitarist Gregory Uhlmann is one of those musicians who has worked with everybody. He’s been part of the touring band for Duffy’s…

Winston Hightower Announces New Album 100 Acre Wood: Hear “Lay Low”

Winston Hightower has a new album on the way. The Columbus lo-fi institution will release 100 Acre Wood in April on K’s Perennial imprint. That’s the same label that gave us Sharp Pins, but Hightower’s version of lo-fi is not so obviously Beatles-y. Local forebears Times New Viking’s scrappy, melodic art punk is a reference…
