Camp Flog Gnaw 2025 Pushed Back A Week, Will Feature Reduced Lineup

Pushing back your entire music festival by a week is a radical maneuver, but it’s one the organizers of Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival believed they had to take. The fest was all set to pop off this Saturday and Sunday at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, but due to extreme inclement weather in the forecast, it’s been rescheduled for the following weekend and will now take place on Nov. 22 and 23. Tyler’s Instagram account posted the following message today:

Confidence Man Announce New EP Active Scenes Vol. One: Hear “Damaged Goods”

The knowingly silly dance duo Confidence Man started off in Australia and then set up shop in London, and they’ve been responsible for a lot of extremely fun music lately. Last year, they released their album 3AM (La La La). This year, they’ve collaborated with JADE, Saint Etienne, and DJ Seinfeld. Now, they’re getting ready to release Active Scenes Vol. One, a new EP named after and inspired by the group’s club night series.

Moses Sumney – “O Mistress Mine”

A few years ago, Moses Sumney took a break from music, and he took on acting roles in the Weeknd’s The Idol and Ti West’s MaXXXine. Since then, Sumney has returned to the music world. This year, for instance, he has release the singles “Hey Girl(s)” with Syd and Meshell Ndegeocello and “I Like It I Like It” with Hayley Williams. But now, Sumney is involved in something that lets hiim practice both music and acting on the highest levels.

Conor Oberst – “Event Of A Fire” (Blondshell Cover)

Blondshell started rolling out If You Asked For A Picture way back in January, and the album dropped in May. Now, she’s taking the album campaign nearly wall-to-wall with an expanded edition called Another Picture. Out today, the new release has one new song, one live track recorded in a Vevo session, two reworks featuring John Glacier and Gigi Perez, and three covers by Conor Oberst, Folk Bitch Trio, and Samia. That’s quite the spread!

Magdalena Bay – “This Is The World (I Made It For You)” & “Nice Day”

Magdalena Bay are on a new-music bender. Last year, they released their widely beloved album Imaginal Disk. In September, they dropped two new songs, “Second Sleep” and “Star Eyes.” A few weeks later, they shared two more, “Human Happens” and “Paint Me A Picture.” On Halloween, they followed up with another two-track release, “Unoriginal” and “Black-Eyed Susan Climb.” Today, the saga continues with yet another double single from Magdalena Bay.

Viral Résumé Guy Accepts Inevitable Jonas Brothers Meeting

Viral fame ain’t what it used to be. Back in the early internet days, you had to do something to become internet-famous, even if it was totally unintentional. You had to look silly while lip-syncing a song or while playing with a lightsaber — something, anyway. Now you can suddenly go viral just for having a résumé on LinkedIn.

Olivia Dean, Gen Z’s Easy Listening Queen

Sometimes artists just spell it out for you. “I’m very pro-comfort zone,” singer-songwriter Olivia Dean told Elle, promoting her new album The Art Of Loving and its sleepy sleeper hit “Man I Need,” which she’ll surely perform this weekend in her Saturday Night Live debut. The single, already a #1 hit in the UK, recently went top 5 in the United States as well. That’s maybe a little surprising numerically — the upper echelons of the charts are still hoarded stubbornly by the Taylor Swifts of the world — but the single’s appeal is obvious: a head-bobbing love song made for early-evening wedding dances, while the parents are still up. The percussion is a homage to “The Way You Make Me Feel,” while Dean’s vocal line do-si-dos with the piano hook to “Cherish.” The song’s about crushing, of course — or, more precisely, setting a crushy, carefree mood: “Bossa nova on all night — it’s like a kind of alchemy.” That line doubles as a sneaky promo for Dean’s own brand of good-mood music; it sounds crafted and A/B tested as a soundbite for one of her many preternaturally poised media appearances.

Avalon Emerson & The Charm – “Eden”

Avalon Emerson made her name as a dance DJ and producer long before she decided to try making actual songs, and then she turned out to be really good at that. Partially inspired by Jeff Tweedy’s book How To Write One Song, she started Avalon Emerson & The Charm, a project that exists on some strange continuum between thumping club music and fuzzy dream-pop. In 2023, they released the excellent debut albunm & The Charm and became a Stereogum Band To Watch.
