Hello from beautiful Barcelona, where most of your Stereogum staff will spend the next three days embarking upon one of the greatest music festivals in the world. Primavera Sound has once again rounded up an exciting array of extremely Stereogum-friendly artists to perform along the bands of the Mediterranean at Parc del Fòrum.

Last we heard from Purity Ring, they were collaborating with Black Dresses and deluxe-reissuing their classic debut album, Shrines. Today the electro-pop duo is back with their first new tunes since 2022’s graves EP, which was the inaugural release through their own imprint, the fellowship.

Talking Heads formed in New York in 1975, which means the band is turning 50 years old this year. They’re celebrating that anniversary today with the first official music video for “Psycho Killer,” an enduring classic from their 1977 debut album Talking Heads: 77.

Zack James is the core songwriter of Robber Robber, drummer of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and live collaborator/session musician for Greg Freeman, Lutalo, Lily Seabird, and more. He also fronts the Burlington band Dari Bay, and unsurprisingly their new song “The Joke” is awesome.
