Sparkler Announce New Album Glidewinder: Hear “Postal”

Hey. it’s another shoegaze band! San Diego four-piece Sparkler have been putting out music since 2020, and they’re about to follow their 2023 debut Big Sonic Chill with a new album called Glidewinder. They recorded the LP over two busy, experiment-heavy weekends. I don’t know their previous work, but Glidewinder lead single “Postal” has a…

Harry Styles Announces New Album Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally

Big-deal pop stars love announcing their returns and unveiling their new albums at the beginning of the year, and now we’ve got another one. Vaguely feline clothes-horse heartthrob Harry Styles is coming back on March 6 with a new LP called Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, a frankly very irritating title. (That’s six words, one period, and one comma. I am not looking forward to typing it a bunch of times.)

Djo Gets Big Stranger Things Streaming Bump, Denies There’s A Secret Ninth Episode Because Finale Was So Bad

Hunky actor Joe Keery was a member of the band Post Animal when he was cast as Steve Harrington on Stranger Things in 2016. Since 2019, Keery has been making music under the name Djo. He released his song “End Of Beginning” in 2022, and it became a viral hit and reached the Hot 100 two years later. (My kids informed me that the track, released independently on AWAL, was pretty much the only song on TikTok during the Universal ban.) In the wake of the Stranger Things finale, “End Of Beginning” is suddenly more popular than ever, even though it wasn’t actually featured in the episode.

Mosswood Meltdown Announces 2026 Lineup With Iggy Pop, Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney & Fred Armisen’s Ramones Tribute, & More

Earlier this month, Oakland’s Mosswood Meltdown teased their 2026 iteration by announcing that Pavement, Wednesday, and Vivian Girls would be playing the pre-party, which is an incredibly stacked lineup for a pre-party. Today the John Waters-hosted festival has revealed its full lineup for this July, which includes Iggy Pop, Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney (with Fred Armisen, as part of their new Ramones cover band the Return Of Jackie And Judy), and more.

By Storm Announce Debut Album My Ghosts Go Ghost: Hear “And I Dance”

By Storm are a group born out of tragedy. Six years ago, Jordan Groggs, a member of the experimental rap trio Injury Reserve, suddenly passed away at the age of 32. In 2023, surviving Injury Reserve members RiTchie and Parker Corey announced that they would keep making music under a new name, calling themselves By…

Michelle Branch Covers Turnstile

Turnstile are everywhere to me. When I close my eyes, it’s them I see. Elton John loves them. Miguel loves them. And now, I guess Michelle Branch loves them, too. Today, pop veteran Branch, of “All You Wanted” and “still being married to Patrick Carney” fame, posted a tender piano cover of Turnstile’s “Never Enough,” the title track from the band’s 2025 album.

Colin Stetson, Greg Fox, & Trevor Dunn Announce New Album Nethering: Hear The Title Track

Colin Stetson, Greg Fox, and Trevor Dunn are all big deals in the world of avant-garde music. Stetson is known for his ominous baritone-sax drones and for his disquieting scores for films like Hereditary and The Menu. Martha Stewart is not a fan. Drummer Greg Fox has been in bands like Liturgy and Zs. Bassist…

Robyn Hated Elon Musk “Before It Was Cool”

Was it ever cool to like Elon Musk? It’s hard to remember now. He’s obviously an absolute fucking pariah right now, and most people presumably feel absolute fucking revulsion whenever his stupid fucking face appears on their feeds. But it wasn’t that long ago that Musk had enough cultural capital to, say, host Saturday Night Live. That should’ve never happened, and a great many people thought it was fucking stupid even then, but it still happened. Someone thought he was cool. Swedish pop queen Robyn has been ahead of the curve on a lot of things, and she would like you to know that hatred of Elon Musk was one of them.

Commitment Announce Debut Album Fear Of: Hear “Dog Pound”

Last year, the Philadelphia hardcore punk band Commitment quietly formed and dropped a demo. There are some familiar faces in this group. Frontwoman Tati Salazar makes indie-pop as Le Siren, and she’s never been in a punk band before. Soul Glo frontman Pierce Jordan plays drums in Commitment, and the guitarist is Jake Smith, from…
