Jim Jarmusch & Anika Announce Father Mother Sister Brother Soundtrack: Hear “Jetlag”

Father Mother Sister Brother is the latest movie from the great American indie auteur Jim Jarmusch, and it just won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. It’s an anthology story about family relationships, and longtime Jarmusch collaborator Tom Waits is top-billed in the heavy-duty cast, which also includes Adam Driver, Cate Blanchett, and Charlotte Rampling, among others. For the soundtrack, Jarmusch got together with the Berlin-based post-punk artist Anika, and we get to hear their first selection today.

Jenny On Holiday (Let’s Eat Grandma) Announces Debut Solo Album Quicksand Heart: Hear “Dolphins”

Jenny Hollingsworth is one half of the consistently interesting and often great UK alt-pop duo Let’s Eat Grandma, and now she’s making solo music under the name Jenny On Holiday. Perhaps she’s on holiday from eating Grandma. Last month, Hollingsworth released “Every Ounce Of Me,” her first Jenny On Holiday single, and I thought it was fantastic. Now, she’s ready to announce her first solo album. It’s called Quicksand Heart, and it’s coming out at the top of next year.

Chattanooga’s Gumm make fiery, passionate hardcore punk that calls back to the some of the great DC bands of the ’80s and ’90s, and they’re getting ready to drop their new LP Beneath The Wheel on Halloween. Lead single “New From The Pain” was one of our favorite songs of the week. Now, Gumm have followed that song with the searching, self-doubting new track “All Gone.”

Yseult Accuses K-Pop Artists R.Tee & Soyeon Of Copying Her Video “Shot For Shot”

Last year, French pop star Yseult called out copy-and-pasting wannabes on her spiky hyperpop track “Bitch You Could Never.” Now, she’s calling out real creative teams for doing the exact same thing with the single’s music video, which was directed by Marita & Shadrinsky. In a series of tweets, Yseult noted that the visual for “DAMDADI” by K-pop artist R.Tee featuring Soyeon directly rips off her video for “Bitch You Could Never,” pointing out the many frame-by-frame similarities. In response, K-Pop stans are attacking the French pop artist.

Dua Lipa Brought Out Billie Joe Armstrong For A Green Day Cover In San Francisco

Dua Lipa is on the ’90s alt-rock bullshit right now. She’s been singing a different cover at every show on her current tour, and sometimes those covers involve surprise guests like Gwen Stefani and Lenny Kravitz, as well as non-’90s alt-rockers like Lionel Richie. On Sunday night, Lipa played San Francisco’s Chase Center, and she did it all again, bringing out Green Day leader and local hero Billie Joe Armstrong.
