A new Lily Allen album is dropping this Friday. It’s called West End Girl, and it’s her first since 2018’s No Shame.

Does Bruce Springsteen know he just got covered by one of Gen Z’s preeminent rock singer-songwriters? I’m sure the Boss will get a crash course in Cameron Winter soon if he hasn’t already, but this weekend, Springsteen was busy attending the 2025 Academy Museum Gala. He was honored with the inaugural Legacy Award, recognizing “an artist whose body of work has inspired generations of storytellers and deeply influenced our culture,” and he marked the occasion with a rare performance of “Streets Of Philadelphia.”

Sabrina Carpenter has spent a lot of time at Saturday Night Live in the past couple of years. She made her debut as musical guest in May of 2024, and then in February she appeared on SNL50: The Anniversary Special alongside Paul Simon. Last night Carpenter did double duty as musical guest and first-time host, 50 years to the day Simon hosted for the first time.

On Thursday (Oct. 16), Charlie Puth announced his fourth studio album Whatever’s Clever!, arriving next year. He released the lead single “Changes” and in its video revealed he and wife Brooke Sansone are expecting their first child. Then on Friday night Puth was joined by Jeff Goldblum during his Los Angeles residency.

Before Shirley Manson became the famous leader of Garbage, she was playing in a band called Angelfish. Now, that group is reuniting for their first show in a decade and all proceeds go to humanitarian aid charities for Palestinian children.

Last year, Haircut 100 announced their first album since 1984’s Paint And Paint. The British new wavers released “The Unloving Plum,” and now they’re finally divulging details about the record, which is titled Boxing The Compass, and sharing another single called “Dynamite.”

A cybersquatter has been occupying slipknot.com for over two decades, allegedly using the URL to advertise counterfeit merchandise for the metal band. Slipknot are only now suing for the domain name.

The last time we heard from the ever-elusive Sky Ferreira was when she released “Leash” for the Babygirl soundtrack last year. The press release stated that her long-awaited sophomore album Masochism was “set for launch,” and then nothing happened. This came shortly after she detailed getting dropped from Capitol Records and said she was “working to try and get some of those songs back” from the label. Last night, though, the alt-pop enigma joined Smerz in Los Angeles at the Regent Theater for “You got time and I got money.”

Dev Hynes is currently on tour bringing his beautiful new Blood Orange album Essex Honey to audiences. On Thursday (Oct. 16), he performed the Smiths’ classic “How Soon Is Now?” on an electric cello in Los Angeles.
