Stream Brògeal’s Multifaceted Debut Album Tuesday Paper Club

On Tuesday Paper Club, Scotland’s Brògeal show you all the bands they can be. The way the quintet encounters sound is the way they encounter thirst. “And when you get fed up of the stout, move on to the wine!/ Join the Tuesday Paper Club, there’s solace in the news/ If that don’t quite cut it, there’s solace in the booze!” goes one boisterous line on the title track.

Lily Allen Has Recorded Her First New Album In Seven Years

Lily Allen is a huge influence on the current generation of conversational, gleefully messy pop stars, but she hasn’t released any music of her own in a while. No Shame, her most recent album, came out back in 2018. But Allen has remained culturally present in different ways: Publishing a memoir, hosting a podcast, selling a vibrator, acting in big productions on London’s West End, defending the entire idea of nepo babies. Now, she’s finally ready to return with a new album.

Rancid – “Sex & Death” (Motörhead Cover)

The last time I saw Rancid, my favorite band of all time, I’m pretty sure Lars Fredricksen was wearing a Motörhead shirt. This was not a surprise. He wears Motörhead shirts all the time. He wore a Motörhead shirt on the back cover of Rancid’s 1994 classic Let’s Go, too, and that was his first album as a member of the band. Rancid bassist Matt Freeman has a side project, Charger, that’s pretty much entirely dedicated to sounding like Motörhead. If you’re putting together a Motörhead tribute record, you obviously need a contribution from Rancid. The producers of the new compilation Killed By Deaf obviously understand that, and they’ve got Rancid covering a relatively obscure Motörhead song.

redveil – “mini me”

The Maryland rapper and producer redveil is only 21, but he started off young, and he’s already racked up an impressive discography. Earlier this year, redveil released a couple of singles, “square one” and the Smino collab “brown sugar.” Today, redveil has another new single called “mini me,” and it takes him in a different aesthetic direction.

Anna von Hausswolff – “Struggle With The Beast”

Philip Svensson

Tell me something. Answer truthfully. When you see the name Anna von Hausswolff, do you think “ecstatic, jazz-influenced nine-minute live-band dance odyssey”? I am asking this because I must admit that this description never once popped into my head. It didn’t even occur to me. You could give me one million tries to describe Anna von Hausswolff’s general vibe, and I wouldn’t land on that phrase once. Today, however, we get to hear Anna von Hausswolff’s ecstatic, jazz-influenced nine-minute live-band dance odyssey, and it’s fucking awesome.

Sassy 009 – “Tell Me” (Feat. Blood Orange)

Mikaela Kautzky

Early next year, Sunniva Lindgård, the Norwegian producer who records under the name Sassy 009, will release Dreamer+, which is apparently her first proper album after various mixtapes, EPs, and assorted remixes. It looks like it’s going to be a big deal. We’ve already heard the extremely sick lead single “Butterflies,” which was one of our favorite songs of the week. Now, Sassy 009 has a new single, and she’s got Blood Orange on this one.
