Reunited WU LYF Share First New Song In 13 Years, “A New Life Is Coming”

Cult-beloved Manchest indie rockers WU LYF aren’t just back together; they’re putting new music out into the world. In February, fromtman Ellery Roberts’ post-WU LYF duo Lost Under Heaven announced their breakup and shared “Creation Song,” their farewell single. After teasing a reunion, WU LYF announced a string of shows last month. Now, they’ve shared their first new track since their 2012 breakup.

No Windows introduced their latest EP The Great Traitor with the alluring “Return.” Now the Glasgow band has another mesmerizing track in store. “Easter Island” finds Morgan Morris and Verity Slangen in folk duo mode, harmonizing over little more than some fingerpicked acoustic guitar and bass, with just the right amount of minimal sonic flourishes. There’s a slight twinge of precocious indie-pop in their singing at the end, before the song disappears into gorgeous ambient whirring.

Kendrick Lamar’s Movie With South Park Creators Pushed Back To 2026

More than three years ago, back before Mr. Morale even, we learned that Kendrick Lamar was making a movie with the South Park guys. The superstar rapper’s film with Matt Stone and Trey Parker, we were told, is based on a script by Vernon Chatman — which Paramount Pictures film chief Brian Robbins has since called “one of the funniest and most original scripts we’ve ever read.” We also learned that the movie “will depict the past and present coming to a head when a young black man who is interning as a slave reenactor at a living history museum discovers that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his.”
