Jay-Z, whose last solo album arrived nearly a decade ago at this point, is still relevant as ever. This May he’ll be performing with the Roots as the headliner of their annual Roots Picnic, and in July he’ll be playing three hometown shows at Yankee Stadium: One celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album Reasonable Doubt, one for 25 years of The Blueprint, and a newly-announced third “Extra Innings” show that we’re assuming will compile his greatest hits from other albums. Around these parts, when we refer to an artist as “twigs,” we’re almost always referring to FKA twigs. On a slightly less recurring basis, we’re referring to the retro-pop rock band the Lemon Twigs. We’re almost never talking about the Twigs, the alt-pop duo of twin sisters Laura and Linda Good. Back in 2014, the Twigs (the band) filed a trademark claim against twigs (the singer), before dismissing the case “voluntarily” not long after.

Not that “Iris” ever really went away, but the Goo Goo Dolls’ 1998 hit has been enjoying a bit of a social media-fueled boost as of late. Last year mgk released a studio cover, and earlier this year it was covered by Sombr and remixed by Steve Aoki. The UK has their own Saturday Night Live now. Live from London, the first episode of SNL UK premiered on Sky TV last night, and it looks like it’ll be formatted pretty much exactly like the original version.
