On Highway To Hell, DIY Lifer Star Moles Is Learning To Hold Back

Gone are the albums of knights and dragons
Gone are the kings and queens of Camelot
We’re going to Hel
We’re dying to be someone on a road to somewhere
This album is what happens when we expire
This album is a banned four loko
This album is the burger king on Columbus st
This album is Purgatorio
This album will make you sing songs of praise
Heavy is the head that wears a hat
We hope you like and savor the flavors of heaven
as we walk together hand in hand
as saxophones whine and trumpets pound
Kick me out and put a hole in my head
We’re going home, Sally

Patrick Stickles Directed Eve 6 & Fastball’s Funny Tour Promo Video

’90s pop-alternative fixtures Eve 6 and Fastball are going on tour together, and they made a funny video to promote it. More specifically, Patrick Stickles made the video. The Titus Andronicus frontman — whose fans are definitely devoted, no matter what Ian Cohen says — directed the lo-fi clip, which emphasizes the value of an Eve 6/Fastball co-bill. Whereas many ’90s nostalgia tours will only afford you two or three hits, this one presents you with six. See for yourself:

Since 2022, Mary In The Junkyard have been making what they describe as “angry weepy chaos rock.” Today, the UK trio is finally announcing their debut album, Role Model Hermit, arriving this summer. Spencer Krug Announces New Album Same Fangs: Hear “Timebomb” (Feat. Elbow Kiss)

Spencer Krug has been enjoying a fun little zeitgeist moment thanks to Heated Rivalry‘s prominent use of Wolf Parade’s “I’ll Believe In Anything.” But now it’s back to new music. World’s Richest Musician Jay-Z Defends Billionaires

Jay-Z, whose last solo album arrived nearly a decade ago at this point, is still relevant as ever. This May he’ll be performing with the Roots as the headliner of their annual Roots Picnic, and in July he’ll be playing three hometown shows at Yankee Stadium: One celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album Reasonable Doubt, one for 25 years of The Blueprint, and a newly-announced third “Extra Innings” show that we’re assuming will compile his greatest hits from other albums. Sounds like it’s a good time for Jay to sit down for an interview.

FKA twigs Wants Indie Band Twigs To Stop Sending Her Cease-And-Desists

Around these parts, when we refer to an artist as “twigs,” we’re almost always referring to FKA twigs. On a slightly less recurring basis, we’re referring to the retro-pop rock band the Lemon Twigs. We’re almost never talking about the Twigs, the alt-pop duo of twin sisters Laura and Linda Good. Back in 2014, the Twigs (the band) filed a trademark claim against twigs (the singer), before dismissing the case “voluntarily” not long after.
