It’s been five years since Pitchfork founder Ryan Schreiber announced his memoir Weird Era. Back in 2021, it was tipped for release in 2023 on MCD Books, but plans evidently changed. The good news is that the book is finally coming out this year, now with a different publisher. On Dec. 1, Farrar, Straus, And Giroux will release Weird Era: How Pitchfork Changed Music Forever.

Lil Wayne Calls Coachella & Grammy Snubs “Humbling,” Fred Durst Responds

Lil Wayne was everywhere in the late 2000s and early 2010s. On the heels of his historic mixtape run, a radio-saturating run of guest verses, and the multiplatinum success of Tha Carter III, the self-appointed Best Rapper Alive was a fixture of the biggest music industry events. But his stature isn’t what it used to be.

The Strokes End Coachella Set With Video Condemning US Actions In Iran And Gaza

The Strokes had a powerful ending for their Coachella Weekend 2 set last night. On the main stage of the festival — just ahead of headliner Justin Bieber — the band closed with “Oblivius,” a song from 2016 that they hadn’t performed since that year. The screen behind them displayed a video montage accusing the CIA of overthrowing various foreign regimes throughout the past few decades, including Mohammed Mossadegh of Iran, Patrice Lumumba of the Congo, and more. The montage ended with some footage of US attacks on Iran and Israeli attacks on Gaza, particularly pointing out the universities that have been destroyed.
