Stream Media Puzzle’s Revved-Up Cartoon Post-Punk Album New Racehorse

As the Bandcamp page explains, “Media Puzzle (May 7, 1997 – June 22, 2006), foaled in the United States, was an Irish horse best known for his win in the 2002 Melbourne Cup.” A few years ago, a group of Australians borrowed that name for their band, whose new album is appropriately titled New Racehorse.…

Blood Vulture – “You Fail Me” (Converge Cover)

Remember Two Minutes To Late Night? That was my motherfucking shit. Two Minutes To Late Night started off as a metal-themed late-night talk show parody at the tragically defunct Brooklyn venue St. Vitus, but it turned into something else during the pandemic. The comedian Jordan Olds, in character as Gwarsenio Hall, would round up heavy…

Jack Harlow Says He Knows How To Read, And Books Are On Him At McNally Jackson Tomorrow

Over the past month or so, the former pop-rap hitmaker Jack Harlow has gone viral for some incredibly dumb reasons. He just released his neo-soul album Monica, and during the promotional rounds, he went on the New York Times Popcast, he told two white music writers that he “got Blacker.” Also he wore a gigantic and very silly hat in his “Say Hello” video. As a result, Harlow has been the target of jokes from august institutions like Saturday Night Live and Dionne Warwick.

Toronto Police Intervene As Drake Fans Attack Ice Structure With Pickaxes, Fire

Drake’s latest goofball-ass stunt is leading to some goofball-ass consequences. Since last summer, Drake has been teasing the release of a new solo album called Iceman. Earlier this week, Drake posted an Instagram photo of a giant new ice structure in downtown Toronto, captioning it “Release Date Inside.” The idea, it seems, is that all this ice will melt and that we’ll all learn the Iceman release date when it gets hot enough in Toronto. But some fans, it seems, would rather not wait.

Lil Wayne Calls Coachella & Grammy Snubs “Humbling,” Fred Durst Responds

Lil Wayne was everywhere in the late 2000s and early 2010s. On the heels of his historic mixtape run, a radio-saturating run of guest verses, and the multiplatinum success of Tha Carter III, the self-appointed Best Rapper Alive was a fixture of the biggest music industry events. But his stature isn’t what it used to be.

Steve Albini’s Estate Auctioning His Nirvana Gold Record

About a year ago, the estate of the late, great audio engineer, musician, and writer Steve Albini began auctioning off his belongings and memorabilia. That project remains ongoing. One new addition to the auction website, known as Steve Albini’s Closet, is a gold record Albini received for his work on Nirvana’s abrasive post-fame freakout In Utero.
