Rosco P Coldchain & Nicholas Craven Share Collaborative Album Play With Something Safe

If you were a big Clipse/Neptune fan in the ’00s, then perhaps you remember Rosco P Coldchain, the verbose, gravelly Philly rap hardnose who always seemed like he was poised for a breakout moment. Coldchain had some vivid, memorable verses on Neptunes tracks, but his completed Star Trak debut Hazardous Life was shelved. In 2008,…

Hannah Frances – “Beholden To The Birds Murmuring Above” (Feat. Mary Lattimore)

The Chicago-reared, Vermont-based folk singer-songwriter Hannah Frances released her stunning album Nested In Tangles last fall. Today she’s back with the deluxe edition, headlined by a new collaboration with harpist Mary Lattimore, who adds layers of beauty to the meditative instrumental “Beholden To The Birds Murmuring Above.” Also in the bonus tracks: an acoustic version…

Geese Announce Getting Killed Again North American Tour

Things have been going pretty well for Geese since they released Getting Killed, the best album of 2025. You might even say the psyop is working. These days, they’re winning awards and walking in runway shows and debuting new songs and shit. They just made a very high-profile Coachella debut, covering Justin Bieber for an audience that included Sabrina Carpenter and Jack White. Courtney Love has gone from “Geese-curious” to singing their song on Instagram. It’s a good day for Geese to announce another North American tour.

Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter Announces New Album Mirage, Art Basel Event

In the five years since Daft Punk announced their breakup, Thomas Bangalter has kept himself busy by scoring films, soundtracking contemporary dance performances, teaming up with young artists like Lil Nas X and Fred again.., and composing music for ballets. His first solo album, in fact, was 2023’s Mythologies, an orchestral work for Angelin Preljocaj’s eponymous ballet that didn’t sound very much like Daft Punk at all. Today Bangalter has announced his next ballet endeavor, Mirage, which is billed as “a vast and atmospheric piece of electronic minimalism.” That doesn’t sound much like Daft Punk either, but it’s closer!

Grouper Announces Rare North America Shows

Look, it’s a Grouper tour! These days Liz Harris rarely goes on the road in North America; when she does play shows, she tends to stay closer to her native West Coast. But today she’s announced a run of six tour dates this September, kicking off with an appearance at Chicago’s Sound & Gravity Festival before hitting the East Coast. She’ll make stops in Toronto, Montreal, Kingston, New York, and DC. See those dates below.

Courtney Love Sings Geese

Courtney Love, by her own admission, has quickly gone from “Geese-curious” to Geese appreciator. In a couple of Instgram reels earlier this year, the Hole frontwoman said she was still “trying to get” the Brooklyn band, later updating fans that she was “fully liking it” despite “gatekeeping elder millennial troll fans.” Now, a few weeks after she posted on her story from a Geese show in the UK, she’s singing along.
