Buck Meek – “Ring Of Fire” (Feat. Adrianne Lenker)

It’s genuinely funny to release a new song called “Ring Of Fire” and have it not be a Johnny Cash cover. That’s what Big Thief guitarist Buck Meek just did. His song “Ring Of Fire” isn’t a cover, and it also isn’t a reference. It’s a vaguely countrified ramble with lyrics about “rock ‘n’ roll…

Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold Announces 2026 Tour And Judee Sill Tribute In NYC

It’s been about a year and a half since Fleet Foxes played their last live show, and as far as we know, they don’t have any immediate plans for more, though they did recently release an Elliott Smith cover. But main Fleet Fox Robin Pecknold occasionally plays solo-acoustic gigs, like the 2024 New York gig where he covered Joni Mitchell, Karen Dalton, and Arthur Russell, among others. Later this year, Pecknold will embark on a brief solo-acoustic tour.

Poison Ruïn are back. The medieval-minded metallic punks have announced the follow-up to 2024’s Confrere today. It’s called Hymns From The Hills, and it’s due at the top of April on Relapse. We’re told the album features ambient interludes inspired by the likes of Scott Walker and the Durutti Column in between the bursts of…

Donald Trump Threatens To Sue Grammys Host Trevor Noah

Sunday night’s Grammys telecast was the last to be hosted by Trevor Noah. CBS, which has aired the Grammys for the past 54 years, lost out on the next contract to broadcast the show, which will move to ABC, Hulu, and Disney+ next year. That marks the end of the line for Noah, who came into the hosting gig because CBS and his former Daily Show employer Comedy Central are both under the Paramount Global umbrella.

Ranking The Performances At The 2026 Grammys

Is there any such thing as a great Grammys telecast? One where you’re just completely locked in through the whole thing, like “let’s all celebrate music together”? No, right? The worst Grammys telecast is a never-ending parade of self-congratulatory bullshit and boring balladry. The best Grammys telecast is a surprisingly OK experience.

Troubled Michael Jackson Biopic Michael Has A New Trailer

At this point, the forthcoming Michael Jackson biopic Michael should just change its name to Troubled Michael Jackson Biopic. It would make things simpler for those of us who have to write about it, anyway. The Antoine Fuqua-directed Michael was supposed to hit theaters last fall, but it reportedly needed emergency reshoots when the producers learned that the last act of the film, which they’d already shot, violated the terms of Jackson’s out-of-court settlement with Jordan Chandler, the 13-year-old boy who accused Jackson of sexual abuse. Somehow, this cursed picture is now scheduled for an April release. It already had a teaser, and the full trailer hit the internet today.

Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever – “Sunburned In London”

We haven’t heard from Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever since their last album Endless Rooms came out in 2022. But today the Aussie jangle-rockers are ending that hiatus with the shimmery, six-minute “Sunburned In London.” “As a band, we have always made songs about cities,” the band’s Tom Russo explains in a press release. “I was…

Last night the Cure won their first two Grammys ever: Best Alternative Music Album for  2024’s Songs Of A Lost World and Best Alternative Music Performance for that album’s lead single “Alone.” (They weren’t there to accept the awards because they were attending the funeral of bandmate Perry Bamonte.)
