Kate Nash has had an incredible ride since her 2007 breakthrough debut album Made Of Bricks. At the beginning of 2024, she announced that she’d signed with legendary indie label Kill Rock Stars, but has only released a couple of singles since that news, one of which was a cover of Sinéad O’Connor’s “Famine.” On Wednesday, Nash returned with the new song “Spilt Milk” and the announcement of a new album Cailín, out in January.

In July, New Radicals quietly released “One Night Only (Break Loose Break Free!),” their first original song in 28 years. It was for the rom-com movie One Night Only, but it turns out that New Radicals have a lot more in store. In a new interview, Gregg Alexander revealed that a followup to 1998’s acclaimed Maybe You’ve Been Brainwashed Too is on the way, and it’s called Maybe You’ve Been Brainwashed TWO.

Anderson .Paak and Cordae may not actually be step brothers, despite what the above cover art implies, but the rappers have a long history of collaborations dating all the way back when Cordae was still going by YBN Cordae. That partnership is about to be cemented on the new co-headline album Heavy Is The Crown, due out next month. They’re promoting it with “A Good Day,” a warm and vibrant traditionalist hip-hop track built around a sample of Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day.” Music video OG Dave Meyers directed the video, a Friday homage starring Jennifer Freeman. On Monday (Sept. 14), Macklemore was dropped from Ed Sheeran’s The Loop Tour due to his advocacy for Palestine. Sheeran made a statement, saying he’s “not complicit” and it was the promoter’s decision to remove Macklemore. His other openers and backing band then quit the tour in solidarity with Palestinian people. Now, Macklemore shared another statement, announcing that he’s donating $1 million he made from Ed Sheeran’s The Loop Tour to organizations for Palestine.

Australian garage-rock troublemaker Billiam releases so much music that it can be hard to keep track for all but your most devoted punk correspondents. We’re checking back in today to report that he’s got a new album called Fang The Sniper coming next month. Unsurprisingly, all three advance tracks are a blast. “Human Body Units” serves up two minutes of fast, loud, lo-fidelity fun, and “Birdman Rally” and “Asbestos And Me” keep that same energy. They’re all catchy too, bursting from your web browser with such verve that one must conclude Billiam has some serious pop instincts jumbled in there with his punk rock pedigree.
