wakelee Announce New Album under construction forever: Hear “Joyce Kilmer Service Area”

Who’s ready for some emo that’s not afraid to writhe around in the pop-punk muck? Some ultra-catchy pop-rock, charged with angst and charging forward with anthemic energy? That’s what you’ll get from “Joyce Kilmer Service Area,” the lead single from wakelee’s new album under construction forever.

Shygirl – “Alyse”

Shygirl is back with her first new music of 2026. Last year, she was busy with the star-studded Club Shy Room 2, and earlier this year she was on the screen, appearing in Charli XCX’s The Moment and Madonna’s Confessions II – The Film. The British star is kicking off a new era with today’s new single “Alyse.” It’s an abrasive, ominous club cut written and produced with Karma Kid and JD Reid. Colleen, who shared Libres antes del final earlier this year, helped compose the track. It comes with an intense music video developed from an original story and script by Shygirl and George Smale and directed by Francesco Loy Bell and Oliver Bell. Watch below.

Beabadoobee – “Memories”

Beabadoobee was already a big star before this year — she wouldn’t be booked in arenas and amphitheaters otherwise — but the singles from next month’s Pylon have suggested a leveling up. After whetting our appetites with the swooning non-album teaser “All I Did Was Dream Of You,” Beatrice Laus gave us the raucous pop-rocker “Sun Has Set” and the sumptuous trip-hop slow jam “Switchblade.” Now comes “Memories,” a dreamy rocker that manages to move with brisk momentum despite its many layers of beauty. “The smell of rain on the pavement/ It’s 3 a.m. and I thought of you,” she sings, before pleading, “Just stay a little while.”

daine Calls Out “Weird AF” Video Of Bassvictim DJ Claiming They Were Desperate For His Remix

daine is releasing their highly anticipated debut album In Endless Awe & Agony later this year, but it turns out the hyperpop scene has some drama (who could’ve guessed?). Electronic duo Bassvictim — who are known to be controversial — started it when Ike Clateman made shadey comments about their collab with daine on an Instagram Live.

Charley Crockett’s Belated Beef With Jack White Escalates On Day 2

The boys are fighting. It all goes back to last month, when Charley Crockett caught heat for dropping Twin Temple off of his shows allegedly due to their Satanic imagery. Jack White recruited the LA duo to open for one of his shows in LA next month, and the country star said yesterday that he lost respect for the White Stripes frontman and claimed that White used to avoid political issues. White responded last night, and now Crockett’s sounding off.

Strawberry Hands – “What Plant Jumps Over Me?”

A Jazz Blessing For The Animal is a pretty title for an album, and it wouldn’t work if the music wasn’t both weird and beautiful. Luckily, it is! Weyes Blood describes her bandmate Jacob Brunner’s music as “somewhere between Terrance McKenna and Gregorian chant. Folk with swagger.” Strawberry Hands released the great lead single “Dream Of Water” last month, and now they’re sharing “What Plant Jumps Over Me?”

Phoebe Bridgers Covers Nirvana In The Live Lounge

Due to appendicitis, Phoebe Bridgers had to postpone a series of intimate UK shows this week, which were to be her first live performances since last Friday’s momentous Lost Weekend release. But before her appendix flared up, she made it to BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge in London to record a session. As of now, that session is live.

Charley Crockett Says He “Lost A Lot Of Respect” For Jack White, Claims The White Stripes Avoided “Political Issues”

Last month, Charley Crockett faced backlash after Twin Temple, an LA doo-wop duo slated to open for two of his shows, were dropped from the bill. Alexandra and Zachary James claimed their Satanic imagery was the reason for it, and Jack White invited them to open for him. The country legend reacted with a lengthy statement that began, “I won’t conform and I’m not sorry.” Now, he’s back with another lengthy statement.
