Last month, Cameron Winter was supposed to play Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky Festival, but the rising rocker dropped off due to scheduling conflicts. My New Band Believe Announce Self-Titled Debut Album: Hear “Numerology”

In 2024, experimental London post-punk band Black Midi announced that they’re “indefinitely over.” Last month, original guitarist Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin suddenly and tragically died at the age of 26. Kwasniewski-Kelvin’s former bandmates are now making music in different configurations. Geordie Greep released his solo debut The New Sound in 2024, and now My New Band Believe,…

Brittany Howard Covers Tina Turner With The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra

There aren’t too many singers who have voices big enough to cover the late Tina Turner without embarrassing themselves, but Brittany Howard is one of them. On Sunday night, Howard took part in the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra’s tribute to Turner at St. Louis’ Jack C. Taylor Music Center. Turner famously came from Nutbush, Tennessee, but she got her start singing in St. Louis nightclubs. As part of that salute, Howard joined the orchestra to howl out Turner’s hit “The Best,” which is not actually titled “Simply The Best” even though that’s what everyone calls it.

Matty Healy Covers The La’s For Charity, Gifts TV To Uber Driver, Rescues Motorist With Dead Battery

You could look at this post in one of a few ways. Maybe the 1975 frontman Matty Healy is fucking around with sidequests instead of getting back to making music with his band. Or maybe he’s gearing up to release more music with the 1975, so he’s doing more stuff that’ll put him in the public eye. And here’s yet another possibility: He’s just living his life, and some of the things that he does will inevitably end up on music blogs like this you. You decide!

Michael Stipe Returns To Springfield To Sing About Crackers

On Sunday night, the 37th season of The Simpsons came to an end with a two-part double-episode season finale. The first of the episodes found Marge going to Philadelphia to enter Santa’s Little Helper into the National Dog Show, and it had appearances from famous Philly voices Questlove, Boyz II Men, and Quinta Brunson, as well as Noah Wylie, Katherine LaNasa, and Taylor Dearden from The Pitt. The second episode (“Homer? A Cracker Bro?”) was about Homer and Kirk Van Houten starting a crumbless cracker company together, and it featured the grand Simpsons return of former R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe.

Things Not Copacetic Between Local H And Boutique Label That Beat Them To As Good As Dead Reissue

Up until recently, Local H’s breakout sophomore album As Good As Dead was extremely hard to come by on vinyl, going for upwards of $200 on secondary markets. This year marks As Good As Dead‘s 30th anniversary, so it’s primed for a reissue; earlier this month, the Long Island-based boutique record label Enjoy The Ride announced that they were doing just that. Local H, however, say they had no idea that Enjoy The Ride had plans to reissue As Good As Dead.
