Last year, Fat Dog released their debut album WOOF. and followed it up with the one-off single “Peace Song.” The band just got a lot of attention for their Glastonbury performance, and they’ll tour North America later this year. That tour wrapped up last night at the Black Cat in the band’s Washington, D.C. hometown, with openers Light Beams, Adult Mom, and Lee Bains. Bye bye, Bad Moves! Tom Lehrer, the influential musical satirist and educator, died on Saturday at his home in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His friend David Herder confirmed the news. Lehrer was 97.
James Gunn’s new Superman movie features an Iggy Pop song, but probably not any of the Iggy Pop songs you’d first guess. In the final scene, during a conversation between David Corenswet’s Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane, you hear “Punkrocker,” Iggy Pop’s 2006 collaboration with the Swedish band the Teddybears. As the story often goes with superhero movie soundtracks, the song is now having a viral moment, and so the punkrocker himself played it live for the first time Saturday night, closing out his set at Project Pabst Festival in Portland.
Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour has been an eventful one. The three-month jaunt promoting her album of the same name wrapped up in Las Vegas Saturday night, and she went out with a bang by bringing out Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams onstage to do a couple of their biggest Destiny’s Child hits together. It was the last time the three of them sang together since “Beychella” back in 2018.

Yesterday, Tyla shared the new songs “DYNAMITE” with Wizkid and “MR. MEDIA.” The singer was also sued by two collaborators, who claim they’ve been cheated out of royalties for her 2023 hit “Water.”
